The tree that produces the pomegranate is not actually a tree, but a bush – one with long, thorned branches that can grow up to 6 metres tall. They can sometimes even live to be 200 years old! Pomegranates originated from Persia (now Iran), and today can be found everywhere in countries with a subtropical climate.
