Guave

The Guave is found in the 19th century in South America and Peru. However not clear is if the Indians already have grown the guave around early 1800s in Northern Florida. Today, guava is grown in most tropical and sub-tropical areas around the globe.

One of the most unique things about guava is the variety of kinds available. Some kinds of guava can be as small as a lemon whereas others can grow to the size of a grapefruit. Also the color can be different, an unrippen fruit is very bright green. Once the guave ripened their colors depend on their kind. You can find them pinkish, reddish, organish and yellowish.

The taste of guava is a cross between strawberries and pears, but depending on the variety, the sweet flavor will vary between mild and strong.
